The Workover Rig Problem consists in scheduling a set of workover rigs in order to optimize the total oil extraction. The problem is modelled as a variation of the Team Orienteering Problem. We propose a column generation strategy in which heuristics are used to speed up the computational times.

Nuclear Fuel Reload Pattern Optimization Under Combinatorial Magnifying Glass

    • Roman Cada, prés., University of West Bohemia

Nuclear fuel reload pattern optimization in nuclear reactors is a complex and difficult task. The characteristics of the pattern are obtained by solving large systems of differential equations which causes one of the main difficulties for optimization. We present several possible methods applied for solving this problem.
