Rotation-Based Projection Operator for 3D X-Ray Computed Tomography
3D reconstruction in X-ray computed tomography can be viewed as a very large scale nonlinear optimization problem. Numerical efficiency is critical to the derivation of useful solutions. We propose a rotation-based representation of the projection and backprojection operators, which yields significant computational savings and added flexibility compared to conventional approaches.

Compressed Sensing in Optical Tomography by Optimally Structured Illumination
Optical tomography is an imaging technique that maps light absorbers from the propagation of visible photons, by solving an underdetermined linear equation. Compressed sensing theory suggests efficient methods to solve this problem. We propose here optimization techniques to compute setups that yield nearly row-orthogonal matrices required for CS methods.
