Decision support for traders of seafood
The main task for traders of seafood is to match supply and demand. We present preliminary results from a research project where the software company Maritech, Lerøy Seafood, Molde University College and Møreforsking have been cooperating to develop decision support for this quite complicated planning problem.

Optimal Placement of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations With Heterogeneous User Preferences
Depending on how the electricity is generated, electric vehicles (EVs) can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Existing studies highlight the importance of public charging infrastructure for EV adoption, and that effective placement of this infrastructure can increase the number of users who purchase EVs. In that context, we consider the problem of opening public charging stations and installing charging outlets within a city over a multi-year time horizon, with the goal to maximize EV adoption. To this end, we anticipate the users' demand once charging stations are made available. We model user’s choice behaviour with random utility maximization models. By using precomputed error terms (sample average approximation) and under the assumption that each charging station is uncapacitated, we can find optimal or near-optimal solutions using an efficient maximum covering model. We show computational results demonstrating the advantages compared to the state of the art.
