Multi actor multi criteria analysis: A tool and software to include stakeholders in the decision analysis: Theory and practice
New policies can sometimes be poorly supported or even contested by stakeholders. Considering their behavior and objectives is therefore essential to guarantee successful implementations. Policy makers should include in their decision analysis the way the different policy options will affect stakeholders. The MAMCA methodology (Multi Actor Multi Criteria Analysis) is precisely addressing that need. It is a MCA that evaluates different policy scenarios by using as criteria the objectives of stakeholders. Behavior of stakeholders lies in this way at the core of the decision analysis.
In order to spread that approach among practitioners, the methodology was implemented in the MAMCA software and applied in several workshops. This tutorial will therefore start by introducing the methodology. Then, the software will be presented through an interactive workshop where the audience will take the role of stakeholders. This way, the audience will be able to experience how the MAMCA can integrate stakeholders’ behavior in decision analysis.
